NOTICE - a parent programme by LBR

NOTICE - the parent workshop that helps conversations happen before crisis

Many parents don't miss the big signs. They miss the small moments that come before them.

A two-session online workshop for parents and carers: learn to read the signs beneath behaviour, and start conversations about mental health with warmth, curiosity and confidence.

€96 · 2 × 2-hour live sessions · Online via Zoom

NOTICE by Let's Be Real - a mental health awareness workshop for parents

Why NOTICE

What if the most important conversation with your child hasn't happened yet?

As parents we notice a lot. We notice when our children grow taller, when they become more independent, when they retreat to their rooms, when they answer “I'm fine”. But do we always notice what is happening beneath the surface?

Many young people carry worries they never put into words - anxiety, friendship struggles, academic pressure, loneliness, self-doubt. Often not because they don't trust their parents, but because they don't want to burden the people they love most.

Meaningful conversations don't begin with having the perfect words. They begin with NOTICE.

Parents often notice:

  • shorter answers
  • increased irritability
  • withdrawal from family time
  • changes in sleep or motivation
  • reluctance to talk about school or friendships

NOTICE is not about becoming a therapist. It is about becoming more confident in recognising when your child may need connection, curiosity, or support.

After this workshop, parents will be able to:

  • recognise subtle emotional and behavioural changes
  • respond without immediately trying to fix the problem
  • ask questions that invite conversation
  • stay present when emotions are uncomfortable
  • strengthen trust through everyday interactions

The ANCHOR framework

Six evidence-informed moves you can use the same evening.

  • Acknowledge

Meet emotions as they are, without rushing to fix, minimise or explain them away.

  • Notice

Read the signs beneath behaviour - the withdrawal, the irritability, the flat “I'm fine”.

  • Connect

Respond in ways that strengthen trust and belonging rather than close the door.

  • Hold space

Stay steady with difficult emotions instead of stepping in to take them away.

  • Open up stigma

Normalise mental health talk at home so it stops being an emergency-only topic.

  • Remain

Stay present long after the first conversation - noticing is a habit, not an event.

This is not a workshop about becoming a therapist. It's about becoming the safe, trusted adult every young person needs.

Online via Zoom. The access link is sent one day before the first session.
How much does it cost?

Will this turn me into a therapist?

Can I get a refund?
Refunds are available up to 30 days before the event through Humanitix.

Children don't need perfect parents. They need parents who notice.

Real noticing. Real connection. Real support.
